Why are we asking you to consider donating to ATS?

Dear friends,

I appreciate the fact that you are on ATS' mailing list. Thank you for the opportunity to write to you. We always try to write articles that will benefit our readers and keep you up to date with happenings at ATS. We appreciate your feedback.

At the end of last year, we had overwhelming feedback from our students regarding their experience of their studies at ATS. We are deeply grateful to the Lord for this. After all, this is what we pray for.

However, we have two issues regarding our students that pose great challenges for them and cause some students to postpone their studies.

Firstly, our students are generally older than their counterparts who study at universities, therefore it is understandable that it is more difficult to successfully study again after being out of the learning environment for so long. In addition, they are already in a full-time occupation with dependents, which makes the challenges even greater. We understand the problem and with more effective training their success increases.

Secondly, financially they cannot cope and are often forced to stop after an enthusiastic start to their studies.

This is a bigger problem, but still there is hope. I try to explain the situation:

  1. At universities, good scholarships as well as NSFAS grants from government are available to students.
  2. Universities themselves also receive a subsidy from the government for each student, which according to my information, is more than the student's tuition fees.
  3. Universities also receive funding from alumni and large companies.

A private training institution like ATS does not have access to scholarships, subsidies from the government or funding from companies. This, although ATS itself and the qualifications we offer, must be approved by the Department of Higher Education and Training, and conform to the same standards as in the case of universities. However, ATS and our students do not get the help that is given to the universities. ATS does everything to keep tuition fees as low as possible, but nevertheless ATS and the students remain in a very difficult situation.

Just a comment: ATS used to have agreements with universities in which we could share in the subsidies from government, but nowadays we are glad that we no longer have such agreements. Our freedom to be faithful only to God's truth in the time of great temptation cannot be bought with money. It is indeed a huge privilege!

My request: Don't you want to trust the Lord to help you give a monthly donation to ATS to make our task, and that of our students, easier?

Motivation: We live in a difficult financial time and apart from students who already have a profession and must work harder than before to pass their studies, they also have the extra burden of tuition fees. Maybe it's not quite right. Your part for God's kingdom may be to trust Him and to help with this challenge.

In the end times of large-scale fallacy, good theological training has never been more critical than today. I believe this is the most meaningful place to give financially to God's cause.

Actually, I am pleading on behalf of called people, beautiful people, who seriously want to give their best for the Lord.

Many thanks!
