A Higher Certificate differs from a Vocational Certificate in that the Higher Certificate is a NQF2 Level 5 programme, registered by the Department of Higher Education and Training and by SAQA and is presented on the Higher Education band.
The Higher Certificate carries a weight of 120 credits and leads to further academic studies (Diploma in Theology or Bachelor of Theology (BTh) degree) on the Higher Education band.
Higher Certificate in Youth Work
The Higher Certificate comprises of theoretical work and a compulsory practical component. The work is covered by 8 modules of 15 credits each.
Vocational Certificates are self-enrichment, in-house programmes to assist those involved in ministry.
There are no minimum admission requirements.
They are non-registered, non-credit bearing and non-credit RPL (recognition of prior learning) may apply.
Christian Worker's Certificate
The Christian Worker's Certificate opens doors to exciting ministry opportunities within the body of Christ. This certificate is based on a Pentecostal perspective offering both basic biblical theological instruction as well as biblical, Pentecostal based practical input.
Small Group Leader Certificate
It is a dynamic programme that gives students a better overview of the Old and New Testaments, insight into ministry specific skills such as preaching and pastoral care, and it provides responsible answers to critical faith issues and Christian ethics.

The Women in Ministry vocational certificate is intended for women who are either married to a pastor or who are involved in ministry in a church and want to better equip themselves. The purpose is to enhance your ministry and leadership skills in an assembly.
The Youth Work vocational certificate is for people who work with young people and want to be better equipt. YWC introduces the learner to basic principles and ministry skills related to youth ministry. The learner will gain a basic understanding of the development stages of young people, as well as certain ministry principles and skills.
