There is a war against the truth of the Bible. People resist the message of the Bible, and for years there has been a relentless battle against it.

Initially, the strategy was subtle, but it has escalated, and now it is evident that this is a war – a war to undermine the Bible. The well-known Jewish professor and best-selling author Yuval Noah Harari has even suggested that the Bible be rewritten by Artificial Intelligence. The assault on the Bible has become blatant, no longer hidden, but with “all guns blazing.”

The war is not merely about a book. It concerns Jesus Christ and our salvation through Him. Jesus is not just one of the messages of the Bible. If you think Christ-centred, then Jesus is the message of the Bible! If Jesus is removed from Scripture, the heart of the Bible is removed.  The attack is on the Bible because it is precisely the Bible that brings us the core truth of Jesus.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) would indeed remove Jesus from the Bible. His name might remain, but everything else would be altered. What it would be replaced with would ultimately be the antichrist – that which stands in the place of Jesus. In 2 John 1:7 we read “For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.”

We are not busy with a conspiracy theory; this battle is far greater than different denominations having different interpretations of the Bible. The fight is to remove Jesus Christ from the Bible.

In 1 Timothy 3:15 we read “the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.”

For Paul, it is the church’s responsibility to protect the truth. The church is those people whose lives have been changed by the message of the Bible; those who heard the Good News, repented of their sins, and have been born again.

Auckland Park Theological Seminary believes that one of the best ways to engage in this fight is by encouraging as many people as possible to learn, understand, and study the Bible. But also, equipping them with skills and strategies to effectively share the Gospel of our Lord Jesus.

We also believe every Christian is called. It may be for the full-time ministry (option 2) or what we like to call a minister in the marketplace (option 1).  A Marketplace Minister views their workplace and its people as a personal ministry. A Marketplace Minister, for example, could be like Paul, who worked with his hands as a tentmaker in Corinth, providing employment for others (an entrepreneur) while also ministering in the marketplace. His success in marketplace ministry is well-documented.

You are familiar with our different academic programmes, but today we want to introduce a new certificate: the “Marketplace Minister Certificate. This vocational certificate is especially aimed at people who might be without a Matric or a Matric exemption, or who does not wish to enter full-time ministry. On successful completion of this certificate, a student will be granted access to ATS’ bachelor degree, diploma or a higher certificate.

Depending on your situation, you can consider one of 3 options:

Option 1: Marketplace Minister Certificate

For someone without a Matric or a Matric exemption, or who does not wish to enter full-time ministry.

Option 2: Bachelor of Theology

Compelling reasons for school leavers and their parents to consider a Bachelor of Theology (BTh) degree.

Option 3: Become a friend of ATS

Don’t you want to trust the Lord to help you give a monthly donation to ATS to make our task, and that of our students, easier?
