In 2 Timothy 1:12 Paul writes about the sustainability of his calling in the light of the many hardship and tribulations he is experiencing “and it is for this reason that I suffer these things. But I am still full of confidence, because I know whom I have trusted, and I am sure that he is able to keep safe until that Day what he has entrusted to me.” (GNT)<\/p>\n
He gives our lives meaning by making us partakers in His triumphal procession. And then, when all kinds of trails and tribulations threaten to end this very calling and even our lives, He keeps that what He has entrusted to us (our calling) safe until the end.<\/p>\n
We want to encourage you not to give up on your calling.<\/strong> Through His grace, you are part of a new nation that transcends all geographic borders, all cultural differences, all language and racial differences. It is a nation of people, who are washed by the blood of the Lamb, whose names are written in the book of life, and whose ruler is Christ Jesus.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Of this new nation, the author writes in Hebrews: “The world was not worthy of them”.<\/p>\n Yet, they were people with a calling. They lived and died for a cause BIGGER than themselves. Some were tortured and refused to be released; some were stoned, sawed in two and put to death.<\/p>\n But it is a nation and a kingdom, that the gates of Hell will not overcome, as revealed to Nebuchadnezzar in a vision more than 2,500 years ago.<\/p>\n This “nation of believers”, although alien and strangers to this world – left an unmistakable mark on this world<\/strong>: They changed science. They changed education. They changed welfare. They changed health. They changed economies.<\/p>\n Today, it is our turn to impact our world<\/strong>. We were called for this, and He is able to keep us safe until His glorious day!<\/p>\n At ATS, we understand that we were called to equip the saints for their task<\/strong>. We devotedly pray, meticulously plan and explore the best way to fulfil this task. The greater the tribulations we experience, the more we allow the Holy Spirit to “pray” through us.
